The Forest City (Savannah, Georgia)

Mayor Button-Down

Artwork by Local Cityscape Artist Kayla S. Kim

What moments in Savannah do you cherish most?

Roaming the Forest City with an old fashioned in a to-go cup, you experience these moments in Savannah with family and friends for high holidays like St. Patrick’s Day, springtime weddings and bachelor parties, and run-of-the-mill weekend getaways back and forth from the beach.

The Savannah moments you love are celebrated on your new ‘Forest City’ short-sleeve button-down shirt in an authentic watercolor by local cityscape artist Kayla S. Kim, arranged in an all-over repeating pattern.

As in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, in the oasis of Savannah, where the first question people ask you is ‘what would you like to drink?’ you are gloriously isolated in this little enclave on the coast surrounded by nothing but marshes and piney woods:

  • Admiring the weathered brick buildings of historic River Street, the green Southern sugar maple trees that line the cobblestone promenade and the magnificence of the Georgia Queen steamboat
  • Gazing at City Hall’s gold dome, its billowing American flag and glimpses of green foliage peaking between the old buildings
  • Following the sound of live music to the roof of the Bohemian to enjoy fresh seafood and cocktails amid breathtaking views of the Savannah River—the iconic Talmadge Memorial Bridge in the distance, the ships, tugboats and barges on the river and the border of South Carolina across
  • Strolling the 18th-century cobblestone streets and twenty-two brick-lined squares, past the homes of elegant Antebellum architecture minified by the shade of the thick Spanish moss on the arching Southern live oak trees that give the city (and this shirt) its moniker
  • Enjoying the afternoon relaxing in Forsyth Park amongst the green trees, blooming flowers, and grassy fields, listening to the calming sounds of the Forsyth Park Fountain, often coupled with street musicians’ classical music
  • Witnessing the river water glisten on a sunset cruise as day turns to night and sunlight to city light in the day’s magic hour
  • Hearing the faint sound of pianos and a good time late into the evening from basement joints like Planters Tavern at the Olde Pink House and Savannah Smiles off River Street
  • Sticking around for one more drink at hospitable dive bars with neon PBR signs and cash only cardboard notices behind the bar like the Original Pinkie Masters

Your long-lasting Forest City button-down is wearable artwork for your intangible memories. Share your Savannah stories in it: what you experience, who you are with and the adventures you are planning next. Listen to the stories shared with you. Your next adventure in the Forest City awaits…

Forest City Artwork

  • The soft edges of the detailed watercolor blend a color scheme of arching green trees, weathered red brick buildings and light blue sky and river to complement your existing Savannah wardrobe (perfect for the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration!)
  • Hand-painted with archival inks on 120-pound eggshell textured paper for an authentic watercolor feel on your button-down
  • Digitally printed to guarantee the details of the artwork are printed clearly on the fabric. Tencel was created with color in mind, because of the fibers’ high absorbency it can easily be dyed and takes color beautifully
  • Displayed subtly on your button-down to be recognized from a distance and admired up close, like a painting in your local art gallery

  • Tencel is an exceptionally strong fiber, both wet and dry
  • Moisture-wicking (50% more sweat absorption than cotton)
  • Tencel does not pill
  • Imported

Forest City Care
