Like you, local Annapolis artist Deirdre Tanton loves the longstanding traditions of Annapolis. As an Annapolis native, she is inspired by living near the water and loves to capture the spirit of the coast & the charm of the Chesapeake Bay in her colorful artwork.

Deirdre illustrated your Annapolis stories for Mayor’s new Annapolis Ahead button-down. Deirdre’s wearable artwork radiates the essence of the Annapolis you love wherever you wear it.

In a digital watercolor, Deirdre chose a large repeat style for the painterly sailboats, turquoise surf and golden starfish of the Annapolis you love so the repeating pattern is visually secondary to the painterly line to release the emotions of your story with unparalleled detail, as if you, the Mayor of Annapolis, are there, in the story:

 Hoisting the sails of the Woodwind at sunset for another season of the Annapolis Yacht Club’s legendary Wednesday Night Races through the Chesapeake Bay, a local tradition since 1959.

Parading the narrow brick streets lined with American flags from wedding ceremonies in Church Circle to harborside receptions for toasts & crab cakes.

Posting up on the deck of Pusser’s, Painkiller in hand, watching the boats stream into Ego Alley.
